Payment & Support

We believe in fair compensation for YA writers:

$0.08 per word

Payment via PayPal, Venmo, or agreed method within 60 days of publication. All selected authors receive one complimentary print copy and promotion through our YA-focused platforms and social media.

Age Groups Welcome

Both teen writers (13-19) and adult writers are welcome to submit. For teen writers under 18, we’ll need parent/guardian permission upon acceptance.

Story Requirements

  • Word Count: 2,000 – 8,000 words (firm limits)
  • Genre: Any YA genre—contemporary, fantasy, sci-fi, romance, mystery, horror, etc.
  • YA Voice: Stories should feature teen protagonists (typically 13-19) and explore themes relevant to young adult readers
  • Originality: Unpublished original works only (no reprints)
  • Format: .doc, .docx, or Google Docs link. Standard manuscript format preferred.
  • Language: English only. We welcome authentic teen dialogue and voice!

Theme Inspiration: We’re looking for stories about identity, friendship, first love, family dynamics, self-discovery, coming of age, finding your voice, and navigating the complexities of being a teen in today’s world.

Submission Period

Submissions are open from February 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026.

Final deadline: September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM GMT

Response Time

We aim to respond within 2 days. If you haven’t heard from us after 30 days, please query. We provide brief feedback on all submissions when possible.

Terms & Community Guidelines

Author Rights & Grant of License

By submitting your story, you grant us:

  1. First Anthology Rights: The right to publish your story for the first time in our YA anthology
  2. Non-exclusive Archival Rights: The right to keep the anthology in print (print and digital formats)
  3. Promotional Rights: The right to use excerpts (up to 10% of the story) for promotional purposes on social media and other YA-focused platforms

You retain: All other rights, including film/TV rights, audio rights, translation rights, and the right to republish the story in other collections or on your personal website after the exclusivity period (6 months post-publication).

  • Payment calculated on final edited word count at $0.08 per word
  • Payment processed within 60 days of publication
  • One complimentary print copy for selected authors
  • Digital copies available upon request
  • Additional copies available at author discount (10% off retail)
  • Special payment options for international authors available

Editing & Collaboration

We reserve the right to perform minor copyediting for clarity. Substantive edits will be discussed collaboratively with the author. Teen writers will have additional support throughout the editing process if desired.

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, bullying, or harassment of any kind. Our platform is dedicated to uplifting diverse teen voices and creating inclusive spaces in YA literature.
